In their own words

"The Coast Sitting was something I did not know I needed. I arrived with a jumble of worries and left with a single typed document that told me clearly where I stood. That clarity was worth considerably more than the fee."

"I was reluctant to engage a lawyer because I expected to feel pressured into things I did not understand. That was not the experience here at all. Lin Hui explained each step before we took it, and we reached an arrangement my former spouse and I could both accept."

"The mediation took a full day, and it was not easy. But pasirlegara kept things moving at a pace I could manage. I felt heard throughout, which I had not expected. We left with a written agreement and I have not had reason to revisit it since."

"I had previously consulted two other firms and found both experiences disorienting — too many things happening too fast. At pasirlegara, the pace was genuinely different. I never felt I was being moved toward an outcome I had not chosen."

"The fixed fee was important to me. I have an income that does not allow for open-ended legal costs, and knowing exactly what the Coast Sitting would cost meant I could make the appointment without anxiety. The advice was straightforward and useful."

"Our children's arrangement needed to be revised as their circumstances changed. pasirlegara handled this with the same care as the original proceedings — methodical, patient, and clearly on the side of what actually worked for the children rather than what was easiest to draft."

How it worked

Three family matters, told plainly

Details have been changed to preserve confidentiality. The nature of each situation, and the way it was handled, reflects real experience.

The situation

A couple in their fifties, married for twenty-two years, agreed that the marriage had ended but were uncertain about the division of their matrimonial flat and savings. Neither wanted a contested hearing.

What we did

A Coast Sitting established their individual positions. We then conducted two sessions of Considered Mediation over three weeks. A consent order was drafted and filed without either party attending a contested hearing.

The outcome

Proceedings concluded within two months. The arrangement reflected what both parties had told us they needed. Neither reported further difficulty after the order was made.

Services used: Coast Sitting + Considered Mediation · Duration: 8 weeks

The situation

A parent with a school-age child needed to establish a formal custody and care arrangement following separation. The other parent was willing to cooperate but both were uncertain about the process.

What we did

We represented one parent through the Patient Course in Family Proceedings. Documents were prepared carefully, and the arrangement proposed was designed around the child's existing routine rather than a standard template.

The outcome

A consent order covering care, custody, and access was approved by the Family Justice Courts at the first mention. The client described the process as less distressing than they had anticipated.

Services used: Patient Course in Family Proceedings · Duration: 6 weeks

The situation

A recently widowed parent needed to understand their position regarding a deceased spouse's estate and whether probate was required. They came to us confused by conflicting information received elsewhere.

What we did

A single Coast Sitting was sufficient to map the legal position clearly. We provided a written document explaining what assets fell within the estate, what was already held jointly, and what the next steps were if they wished to proceed.

The outcome

The client was able to proceed with a clear understanding of their position. They did not require representation in formal proceedings and told us the written document had been useful to share with a financial adviser.

Services used: Coast Sitting only · Duration: Single session
