Why pasirlegara
The advantages of a steady hand
Family law rarely benefits from speed. What helps is a practitioner who understands the full picture and will stay with it, without pushing toward an outcome that serves the timetable rather than the family.
Back to HomeSix things that matter in family law
Unhurried process
We set the pace according to what the family needs, not an internal target. Decisions made without pressure tend to hold.
Written advice as standard
Every substantive position we take on your behalf is put in writing and given to you. You do not have to rely on memory alone.
Preference for settlement
Contested hearings are sometimes necessary. We work to avoid them where the family's interests are better served by a considered arrangement.
Transparent, fixed fees
Our three services each carry a clear stated price. You know what you are committing to before any work begins.
Small, attentive practice
A deliberately limited caseload means your matter receives the same practitioner's attention from beginning to end.
Grounded in Singapore law
We work exclusively within Singapore's Family Justice Courts framework, with knowledge built through years of focused practice.
Professional expertise in family law
Our practitioners have worked in family law specifically for the duration of their careers. They are not generalists who handle family matters alongside other work — this is all we do.
- Admitted to the Singapore Bar, with active practising certificates
- Continuing legal education completed each year
- Familiarity with the Family Justice Courts' current procedures
A measured and consistent process
Each matter follows a considered sequence: first understanding the family's position fully, then setting out the options clearly, then moving at a pace the family is comfortable with.
- Initial sitting to map out the legal position
- Written summary provided after each significant stage
- No stage begins without the client's understanding and agreement
Client-centred at every stage
We approach every matter as belonging to the family in front of us, not to a category of case. The people involved, and what they are trying to preserve or achieve, shape every piece of advice.
- Single point of contact throughout the matter
- Responses to enquiries within one working day
- Plain language used in all advice and correspondence
Honest value at fixed prices
Our fees are set and stated before any engagement. There are no additional charges added to a service you have already agreed to pay for. Disbursements that may arise in proceedings are explained clearly before they occur.
- SGD 180 for a Coast Sitting with written outline
- SGD 335 for Considered Mediation
- SGD 475 for the Patient Course in Family Proceedings
Outcomes that hold
We are interested in arrangements and conclusions that a family can live with, not only ones that are technically final. Outcomes negotiated carefully and at pace tend to generate fewer difficulties after the legal matter is concluded.
- Preference for consent orders where appropriate
- Arrangements that reflect the family's actual circumstances
- Follow-up available if circumstances change
How our approach differs
Not all family law practices work the same way. Some of the differences are significant enough to affect how a matter unfolds.

What you will not find elsewhere
The written position document
After a Coast Sitting, you leave with a written outline of your family's legal position. Produced during the sitting, not promised for later. This is not standard practice in the industry — it is something we do as a matter of course.
No billing by the hour
Hourly billing creates an uncomfortable tension between the client's interest in efficiency and the practitioner's income. Our fixed-fee structure removes that entirely. The sitting takes as long as it needs to.
A caseload managed deliberately
We do not accept more matters than can receive full attention. This is a business decision that limits growth but maintains the quality of attention each family deserves. We consider it non-negotiable.
Mediation conducted in-house
Our Considered Mediation service is not outsourced. The same practitioner who knows your matter facilitates the mediation, bringing continuity and an understanding of the full picture to the table.
